Jim Weiss Online Workshop for Teachers
Thursday, October 8, 2020, 5:00-7:00 MDT, Via Zoom
>>>The recording of the event will be available with your registration!<<<

Montana teachers can earn two continuing education units from OPI for attending this workshop.

Brain research and storytelling: the learning value of storytelling. Every story is a teaching story. Stories can teach ethics intrinsically. Mr Weiss will teach how to draw ethical understanding from students. Material will be from all four historical eras–Ancient, Roman, Medieval, Modern.

Mr. Weiss will illustrate how the same material can be adapted for younger and older students.
The workshop will teach the structure of stories and techniques for changing voice and character, including the two unbreakable rules of storytelling. Participants will leave the workshop with immediately useful skills and materials.

For three decades, Mr. Weiss has traveled the world telling stories and presenting workshops on storytelling, writing, and teaching. His connection to audiences is magnetic and interactive, and he helps teachers masterfully tell stories, and improve their ability to read stories aloud, in ways that help students appreciate classics and world history.

Educators in all fields and of all grades are invited to participate in this valuable workshop.

To register for the workshop: in the drop-down at the top of this page, select the number of tickets and click “register now.” Each attendee needs to complete registration and payment to participate in the workshop.
